QCB LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR BOARDWALK SALE

The sun is out, the air is fresh and plans are getting under way for the 2nd annual Quayside Boardwalk Sale [QBS]. The QBS is the new revised, version of the Quayside Boardwalk Festival & Sale which took place every August for the past 10 years. Over the decade, the festival and sale attracted thousands of people to the Quay and helped keep massive amounts of ‘treasures’ from landfills.

After a decade of dedication to this event, our Festival chair James Crosty has stepped down to give others an opportunity to put their brand on this great event. Today, the event has been rebranded as the Quayside Boardwalk Sale and we are looking for volunteers to helps us put together this years event.

Date have yet to be set (traditionally it is held the 3rd Saturday of August. The QCB President Vickie Turvey is taking the helm this year as the QBS chair, and is actively looking for volunteers to assist in making the 2nd annual sale a great success.

“I am currently trying to find people who are interested in helping to coordinate and implement our Quayside Boardwalk Sale [QBS] this year. I would like to put together a small committee of people that would be willing to meet separately from the QCB meetings to discuss strategy for all aspects of the sale such as coordinating space and possibly table rentals for those who want them, and then getting the rentals put out in the morning and picked up in the afternoon after the sale.

This request for help is open to any Quayside resident with an interest in helping; project management experience would be a huge asset! I would like to meet on Wednesday evenings starting fairly soon on an as needed basis. Meeting frequency will be determined by the committee.

Anyone interested can email me at presidentqcb@gmail.com
